I've seen many blog posts and pinterest posts of paint chip art. I decided that I wanted to try a project with my niece over the Thanksgiving holiday. C is 8 years old and she is very into crafts and art. Our mutual love of both has resulted in some very fun memory making days together!
We started out with a variety of pink shades cut into strips of varying widths.
We took the strips and pasted them to the back of the sample picture from a frame I bought at Wal-mart for $3.
From there, we took other paint chips and cut match stick sized strips to make petals! And snipped other shapes for the leaves, blades of grass, a butterfly, the sunshine and sun beams.
C picked the colors for everything other than the background. We didn't have a set plan when we started out other than the pink shades in the background. I think it looks super cute in the black frame - though bright white would also be a great look.
My sweetie pie looks proud. And she should be - she did the cutting and told me where to glue things.
We went home for Christmas and found that she has this proudly hanging in her bedroom.
Project list:
Paint chip samples from Wal-mart - free
Roller adhesive - had on hand, can be found at Wal-mart or craft stores. I found mine on clearance at Tuesday Morning.
Frame from Wal-mart - $3
C and I took on a new project over the Christmas holiday. I'll post about that soon.
Happy New Year!
